But wait, it’s now quilting time. No need to feel guilty spending the day at your sewing machine, cutting out new blocks, or just playing with your stash. For some reason it just feels luxurious quilting on a rainy day. This month I finally acknowledged that I don’t have time to run classes any more, I therefore made some quick videos which cover the key features my scrap class. Read my blog, watch the videos, buy the Scrap template sets which we have put together especially, and feel “liberated!”.I must admit that the first video is not my best, it’s funny how we all want to look polished and professional when photos and videos are taken, but that wasn’t me on the day! But I hope I get the message across, despite my dropping things etc. :-).And over Christmas I made a couple of NZ Quilt patterns, I have now listed those below as well.Have fun, Carol
We have been asked so often for these, we have made them up in a set. Which makes them a little cheaper than buying them separately. We also include a one page instruction sheet on how these sizes can be put together.
Once you start making these scrappy blocks, your scraps and “uglies” fabrics, and those old and unloved fat quarters, will soon become lovely scrappy quilts.
These are very quick and easy to make, especially using the 6 1/2″ set.
And, if you look at the price of fabrics today, these are excellent value.
Find out more here and watch the videos as well.
I have made up a little kitset, which includes 2 new NZ wall handing patterns and 12 * 4 1/2″ squares. This kit also requires the NZ Maps template set (which is not included). I have also included the 12 fussy cut 4 1/2″ squares which you use around the border, otherwise you would have to buy several fat quarters and only use a small piece of each.
This kit is $18.
Our 2 1/2″ by 12 1/2″ ruler at $18 is our most popular ruler. I find that it is my most used quilting tool. If you don’t already have one, buy one now. And it can be used by left or right-handed quilters. (after many requests from my quilting group)
Our April newsletter list prize of a $30 voucher for our products went to Erin. Congratulations! Forward this newsletter to a friend, so they can join and be in to win too.
It’s cheaper than therapy!
(That’s so true!)
